Christmas Parade Theme: Storybook Christmas PDF Print E-mail

Saturday, December 1 at 6 pm

Nashville, Ga.— The annual Christmas Parade, which is organized by the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Saturday, December 1 beginning at 6 p.m.  The theme for this year’s parade is “Storybook Christmas”.  Line up for the parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Middle School Circle.  To ensure the safety of the spectators as well as the participants several rules will be enforced for this year’s parade.  Also, each parade entry must register with the Chamber of Commerce by November 26 including a $10 entry fee.

“Again this year, the entry fee paid by participants will be used to adopt a local family for Christmas on behalf of the Chamber and the parade participants,” said Crissy Staley, executive director, Berrien County Chamber of Commerce.  “We purchase all the gifts locally, so the entry fee helps support local businesses and local families”

Parade Rules

· Anyone driving a vehicle in the parade, including ATV’s/motorcycle/go-cart must be a licensed driver.

· All ATV’s/Motorcycles/go-carts must be a part of an organized group/club/business.

· Anyone driving and/or riding on an ATV/motorcycle/go-cart must wear a helmet.

· Antique cars and oversized “monster” trucks will be permitted in the parade with prior approval provided they are decorated with at least a holiday wreath or bow.

· Parade officials will not tolerate any horseplay like laying drag, wheelies, donuts, etc.  Violators will be removed from the parade and cited by the police department.

· No one is to have Santa on their float except for the official pre-authorized group that has reserved to carry Santa on their float.  (Santa has already been reserved for the 2011 Christmas Parade).

Registration forms for the parade are currently available at the Chamber of Commerce, 101 North Davis Street, the Old Courthouse.  If you have any questions regarding the parade please contact the Chamber at 686-5123.
